Julie P.W. Bynum, MD, MPH

Dr. Julie Bynum is an assistant professor of medicine at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Bynum’s major research interest lies in the area of the effectiveness and efficiency of health care delivery to high risk elderly, including the old and cognitively impaired. She has published articles on the cost and use of health services among people with dementia, use of screening in advanced age, and how to measure performance of health systems using Medicare claims.

She received her undergraduate degree from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and medical degree and a Master’s of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. She was an internal medicine resident and chief resident at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before returning to Johns Hopkins for a research fellowship in geriatrics.
