Daniel R. Goldstein, MD Associate Professor of Medicine
Yale University School of Medicine
Daniel Goldstein, MD, is assistant professor at Yale University. His research focuses on the role of aging on immune function. Specifically, he is using a viral infection model in mice to understand how aging affects the T cell response to viral infection. He and his team are investigating what mechanisms are involved and how to boost immune responses in aged hosts. In addition, he is interested in innate immune function on transplantation rejection and understanding how innate immune function impacts transplant tolerance mechanisms.
In addition to his research, Dr. Goldstein is a practicing heart failure transplant cardiologist. He received his MD from St. George’s Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, and completed fellowships in heart failure and transplantation and cardiovascular diseases at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
